Overview
The Logic+ Subroutine panel executes a selected Logic flow and returns its output back to your current flow, allowing one Logic to run seamlessly within another. It can call any Logic accessible in your company's Sharpen account, including those created by you or other users.
The primary use case for this panel is connecting with external platforms to pull in useful data, functioning as a flow within a flow. It is not designed for standard IVR tasks such as transferring calls to queues or playing prompts. Instead, it is best suited for things like data lookups, retrieving information, and enriching calls with additional context.
Before You Begin
The Subroutine panel lets you treat individual Logics as reusable building blocks, which simplifies both building and maintaining your flows. Rather than rebuilding a solution from scratch each time, you can create standalone Logics for common tasks and call them wherever needed.
For example, you could build a Logic that returns a customer's account number based on their input, then use the Subroutine panel to call it from any other Logic that needs that information.
Tip: Test any target Logic on its own before using it with the Subroutine panel. This panel does not verify whether the targeted Logic works as intended — it is your responsibility to confirm the Logic functions correctly before referencing it here.

Fields
Logic ID
Select or specify the Logic+ flow you want this panel to execute.
Use Dropdown: Select a Logic from the available list.
Use Variable: Enter a variable containing the Logic's unique ID string. See the Finding a Logic's ID section below for instructions on locating this value.
Exits
-
Default
The path taken when the subroutine completes and returns output to the flow. Use the dropdown to connect this path to the next panel in your flow.
Finding a Logic's ID
If you need to reference a Logic by its ID string rather than selecting it from the dropdown, you can locate the ID directly in your browser:
Open the desired Logic in the editor, then look at the URL in your browser's address bar. The Logic's unique ID string is embedded in the URL. Copy this value for use in the Logic ID field of the Subroutine panel.
