Overview
Sound files and prompt files are audio recordings used throughout the Sharpen platform to deliver pre-recorded messages, hold music, and announcements to customers. These files are managed by administrators through the Sharpen user interface and are split into two categories depending on where they are used: MP3 files for standard platform features and WAV files exclusively for Logic+.
Before uploading a sound file, ensure it is saved with a supported .mp3 or .wav file extension. Also, verify that the file name does not contain special characters (such as ., ', or "). An unsupported or missing file extension, or the use of special characters in the file name, may cause the file to fail during upload or conversion.
MP3 Sound Files
MP3 files are used across the following areas of the Sharpen platform:
Hold Music

In-Queue Voicemail Offer Messages

Accessing Sound Files
Navigate to Admin > Configuration > Sound Files to view and manage all uploaded MP3 sound files.

Channels: Mono
Encoding Format: 16-bit PCM
WAV Sound Files (Logic+ Only)
WAV files are used exclusively within Logic+ and are managed separately from standard sound files.
Accessing Logic+ Prompt Files
Navigate to Admin > Configuration > Logic+ and select Prompts to view and manage all uploaded WAV files.
File Requirements
All WAV files uploaded to Logic+ must meet the following specifications:
File Type: WAV
Audio Bitrate: 8 kbps
Channels: Mono
Sample Rate: 8,000 Hz (8 kHz)
Uploading a New File
Click the Create button in the top-right corner of the Prompts page, then either drag and drop your WAV file into the designated area or click inside the box to browse and select the file.
Best Practice: Regardless of file type, it is strongly recommended to establish a consistent naming convention for all sound files before uploading. Without a clear convention, locating specific files becomes increasingly difficult as your library grows.
